Every swift water rescue is based on a risk algorithm. Before rescue techniques used to go by the mantra Talk: Reach Wade Throw Helo Row Go and Tow. With the Watermog, rowing, becomes as low risk as the wade and being deployable on the water may increase the rescue time over a helicopter or better access in areas that foot traffic is restricted. The most important factor in keeping rescuer casualty to a minimum is keeping rescuers in the boat. How our swift-water rescue boat stacks up
The Watermog is made from PVC material and sprayed with 15 gallons of polyurethane for extra durability. It is composed of 10 different air chambers for the highest floatation power of any rescue boat of the same size. The Watermog has the option for a transom mount and engine or operated by oars only. The motorized option includes a hull that is made with drop stitch material and encased with Kevlar49 and polyurethane for added durability. This hull can also be added to the oar powered boat for additional flotation.
The Watermog allows a first responder or rescue team to perform rescue operations in conditions previously unimaginable such as low head dams, flood waters, and even surf rescue.
