Creature Crafts are a revolutionary new species of whitewater boats that have surpassed many of the limitations of conventional rafts and in the process opened up vast new possibilities for fun and safety on the river. The key trait of all Creature Crafts is that, with proper technique, they can be rolled back to an upright position. This is achieved with the aide of Creature Craft's trademark roll cage design which prevents the boat from ever settling into an upside down. The roll cage also protects the crew from rocks and other objects when the boat is on its side. The roll concept is very much like that of a whitewater kayak. If the boat ever capsizes, there is usually the possibility to perform a roll while remaining inside the boat, often times continuing down the river without barely missing a beat. Traditionally with whitewater rafts a flip has almost always meant a guaranteed swim for the crew, exposing them to potential injury as they find themselves swimming through whitewater.

In a Creature Craft this problem is overcome, as the paddler now rides securely strapped into his seat. The roll cage design provides a protective enclosure which permits this to be done safely. Of course every seat has a quick release system which allows a paddler to quickly unstrap it it ever became necessary. Nevertheless, very much like with whitewater kayaks, it is usually to the paddler's advantage to remain inside the boat and re-righten it as soon as possible. Creature Crafts have the added feature above whitewater kayaks, that if the boat capsizes, the entire crew is able to happily keep their heads above water and breathing, while preparing themselves to execute the rolling maneuver that will re-righten the boat.
