Gauley Fest just keeps getting bigger and better! Started in 1983 to celebrate the derailment of a hydro-electric project that would have disrupted the flows on the Gauley River, Gauley Fest has grown to become the largest river festival in the world.

You can plan on seeing Creature Craft there this year once again. The dates are Sept 18-20th, 2009. Put it on your calendar!

FIBark River Festival

Description: FIBArk is a several day river festival hosted by the friendly citizens of
Salida. This event, the oldest whitewater race in Colorado, has a colorful
history; it began on 19 June 1949 when two boaters organized a 56-mile
downriver race from Salida to Canon City. If you have always wanted to try
out a Creature Craft or would like to learn more about them, this will be
a great opportunity to do so.

Yampa River Festival

Known for its friendly small town atmosphere, Steamboat Springs boasts some of the best whitewater in the country. The Yampa River Festival includes a downriver race, a rodeo, and a beautiful Class II slalom course
in Dr. Rich Weiss Park, with classes for nearly all boats. Also included are beginner events, a salmon slalom (an up-river race), and the ever-popular “Throw a stick in the water and the first dog out (with the stick) wins”contest. A bluegrass band, chili feast and a special guest traditionally add
flavor to the festival.

Class V Guide School

Description: Creature Craft in conjunction with WaveTrek Rescue from WA state is putting together a class V guide school which will
cover all the necessary techniques to run class V rivers more safely and with more confidence. This course covers techniques
for the use of Creature Crafts in class V whitewater as well as techniques for traditional paddle rafts and oar boats as well.

It\\’s a great opportunity to fine tune your water-reading and river-running abilities, as well as an opportunity to experience
class V whitewater like you\\’ve never experienced before.

Among the techniques covered are rolling, rigging plus an emphasis on risk management and safety procedures.
The course location and class V rivers run will depending on the water levels at the time of the course.
